The proposed modifications will consist of: (1) an increase in the floor area of the permitted two-storey Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) 110/20kV substation building (Building A) from c.236.34m2 to c.1,291m2, as well as an increase in height from c.10.4m to c.15m; (b) 1 no. additional single-storey 20 kV switch room and protection building (Building C) (c.151m2); (c) an increase in site area from c.06ha to 0.9249ha: (d) all associated site works including 1 no. additional lighting rod (c.12.5m in height), revisions to 2.4m high palisade security fencing, a new sliding gate, a kiosk on a concrete plinth, and the realignment of the 2 no. 110kV underground cable ducts between the proposed substation and the existing EirGrid 110kV substation to the north.
