  • •The latest applications with their status, decision and location.
  • •How many applications were granted and refused in the county this year.
  • •Links to the council's planning portal, development plan and website.
  • •Every application links through to the council's own file, with the drawings and submissions.

Frequently asked questions

How many planning authorities are there in Ireland?

31 local authorities decide planning applications in Ireland, covering 26 counties. Three counties have more than one: Dublin has four (Dublin City, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin), while Cork and Galway each have a city council and a county council.

How do I find a planning application in my area?

Pick your county below to see the applications lodged there, or search by address, Eircode or planning reference number from the search bar. Each application page links directly to the council's own file, where the drawings and submissions are held.

How up to date is the planning data?

The national dataset is refreshed by the Department of Housing on a rolling basis, and typically runs one to two weeks behind the councils. To close that gap, each county page also shows a 'Lodged This Week' section taken live from the council's own register, so you see applications before they reach the national dataset.

Can I see decisions as well as new applications?

Yes. Every application page shows the full lifecycle: received date, any further information request, the decision due date, the decision itself, and any appeal to An Coimisiún Pleanála. County pages summarise how many applications were granted and refused this year.
