Permission.ie is an independent service that makes Irish planning data accessible, searchable, and trackable. We aggregate planning application data from all 31 local authorities in Ireland, making it easy for homeowners, professionals, and communities to stay informed about development in their area.

Our Mission

Planning decisions shape the places we live. Yet accessing planning information in Ireland has traditionally meant navigating 31 separate council websites with different interfaces, search tools, and data formats. Permission.ie brings all of this data together in one place, with instant alerts so you never miss an application that matters to you.

Data Sources

Our planning application data is sourced from publicly available records published by Ireland's 31 local authorities. We sync data from the national planning application database multiple times per day. New applications typically appear on our site within 24 hours of being registered with the local authority.

We do not create, modify, or interpret planning data. We present it as published by the planning authorities. For official records, always refer to your local authority's planning portal or MyPlan.ie.

Editorial Process

Our planning guides are written to help people understand the Irish planning system. They are based on current legislation, including the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the Planning and Development Act 2024, and reference official sources including Citizens Information and An Coimisiún Pleanála.

Our content is reviewed for accuracy against current legislation and updated when planning law changes. Each guide shows a "Last updated" date. Our guides provide general information and should not be considered legal or professional advice. Permission.ie is an independent, privately operated service. We are not affiliated with any local authority, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, An Coimisiún Pleanála, or any government body. We are not a planning consultancy and do not provide planning advice beyond our published guides.
