Part 8 - Louth County Council hereby gives notice of it's intention to carry out extension and alterations to the Ardee Educate Together National School. The proposed works consist of: (1) Construction of a single storey extension to the south facing teaching wing containing 4 classrooms, staff room and associated sanitary accommodation comprising of an additional 314sqm gross floor area. (2) Amendments to the approved internal layout to facilitate two additional special education needs classrooms and ancillary accommodation. permission for development at St. Brigid’s Hospital, Ardee, Co. Louth, which is listed as a protected structure under the current Louth County Development Plan (RPS no. Lhs017-038) and listed on the NIAH (ref. 13823032). It is proposed to carry out refurbishment works to the 3 no. building blocks i.e. the left wing, central block and the right wing. The proposed works consist of: (a) the careful removal of the existing original timber windows on the central block clock tower and non-original metal and pvc windows from the remainder of the building blocks as mentioned above, (b) the installation of replacement timber windows to the front face of the central block and slimline, triple-glazed thermally broken aluminium windows, powder coated white, to the rest of the building. It is proposed to replicate, as much as practicable, the original fenestration that can be gleaned from historical photographs. Where these are not available, it shall be assumed that the fenestration of the replacement windows would have replicated the windows that were being replaced. (c) Remove existing external doors and replace with new hardwood door to the main entrance of the central block and high-performance aluminium doors elsewhere (d) carry out all associated works to make good reveals, heads, cills etc. in accordance with best conservation practice.

Permission for (1) alterations and single storey extensions to existing dwelling, (2) decommission existing septic tank and new mechanical waste water treatment system and polishing filter, (3) paving and surface water drainage system, (4) the demolition of part of the existing roadside boundary wall (part of protected structure ref. LHS017-068) and entrance piers and wing walls, and the erection of a new timber post and rail fence with wing fencing and timber gates which will all be replaced with a stone wall and entrance piers granted on foot of PL Ref. 18/82, (5) increased site boundaries, (6) boundary treatment and landscaping. The area for the proposed works is within the curtilage of protected structures located adjacent or abutting the subject site including free standing gates with stone square piers and stone wall which is included on the Louth record of protected structures, ref. LHS017-068.

Permission for a two storey, part single storey, community nursing unit/residential care unit (c.4,494sqm total gross floor area) comprising 50 beds with associated resident accommodation including dining rooms, kitchenettes, resident areas with family overnight room, visitors room, treatment room, hairdressers salon etc.; internal courtyard and terrace space; associated back of house areas including kitchen and laundry areas, staff accommodation and ancillary offices; an upgrade of the existing access road to provide a two way road with cycle and pedestrian facilities, modifications to the stone entrance walling on the Golf Links Road for pedestrian and cycle access; and associated landscaping, site services, generator and ESB sub-station; and all associated site and development works. The development is proposed within the curtilage of St. Joseph's Hospital, a Protected Structure (RPS. Ref. No. LHS017-035) but no works are proposed to the protected structure in this application.
