Proposed Development
an integrated constructed wetland (ICW) over a total area of 5.58 ha located within the existing LRP ADF site, including formation of wetland cells, associated works and access roads using onsite soils. The development will include landscaping both within the wetland cells and surrounding area. The purpose of the ICW is for the management and treatment of leachate arising from the ADF, which is planned as part of their closure, restoration and aftercare management plan. Any discharge waters following treatment through the ICW will flow to two open water cells for containment. LRP station and the ADF are licenced by the Environmental Protection Agency under an Industrial Emissions (IE) licence (Ref. P0610-03). A Natura impact statement (NIS) has been prepared for the purposes of this project.
