Said Permission was granted for the following works on Parnell Street and the specified laneways in Ennis, County Clare: 1) The up-grading of the public realm of Parnell Street, from High Street in the East to Carmody Street in the West, including re-surfacing in natural stone materials; street furniture; replacement street lighting; replacement signage, new signage and signage restoration and all ancillary site works. 2) Up-grading of the public realm of the Laneways, including where appropriate re-surfacing in mostly natural stone materials ; replacement street lighting; provision of bin stores and barrel plinths; replacement signage, new signage and signage restoration and all ancillary site works. Clare County Council now proposes the following alterations to the improvement works as granted on Parnell Street and Old Friary Lane. 1) Parnell Street - The proposed alterations relate to the section of Parnell Street between Cabey's Lane and Wood Quay. It is proposed to alter the traffic priority on this section of the Street from vehicular priority to shared priority. To facilitate this it is proposed to alter the levels on the Street to remove the footpath kerbing. It is also proposed to include anchor points and removal bollards between the footpath areas and the central vehicular circulation area. The revised proposals would otherwise continue to provide the re-surfacing in natural stone materials; street furniture; replacement street lighting; replacement signage, new signage and signage restoration and all ancillary site works as previously permitted under P19-8012. 2) Old Friary Lane - Replacement of permitted natural stone sett surfacing with a mix of natural stone sett surfacing and asphalt surfacing. In accordance with the Habitats Directive, Appropriate Assessment Screening has been carried out on the projects. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening determination has been made and concludes that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development.
