Proposed Development

We, Schutz (Ireland) Ltd., intend to apply for permission for development at this site at Killala Business Park, Tawnaghmore Lower, Killala, Co. Mayo, F26 XY18. The proposed development will consist of the following works: (a) Demolition of part of existing adjoining building to make provision for future extension as part of this application. (b) Demolition of temporary prefabricated buildings. (c) Construction of a fully serviced extension to side of existing building which will create additional production area for the existing facility, external plant mezzanine area and the construction of a two-storey office / admin block to the front of the development. (d) Alterations to elevations of existing building to include new wall cladding and windows. (e) New vehicular entrance off the existing service road to allow for HGV access to the rear of the site. (f) Site works to consist of alterations to existing service road, car parking, EV charging spaces, landscaping, lighting, the provision of a bicycle shelter, smoking shelter, covered outdoor seating area, forklift and gas compound, flag poles, signage and boundary treatments to the site. (g) Connection to existing foul, surface water, watermain and utility services networks. (h) All ancillary and associated site works. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning authority in connection with the application. The planning application including the Natura impact statement (NIS) may be inspected at the offices of Mayo County Council during its public opening hours. A submission or observation in relation to the application may be made in writing to the planning authority on payment of the prescribed fee (€20.00) within the period of 5 weeks beginning on the date of receipt by the authority of the application, and such submissions pr observations will be considered by the planning authority in making a decision on the application. The planning authority may grant permission subject to or without conditions or may refuse to grant permission.

The Proposed Development includes the demolition and removal of the existing Asahi Plant buildings, foundations, as well as decommissioning and removal of the existing overhead, above ground drainage system and underground services. The Proposed Development will also include Resurfacing, Repair and Improvement of Existing Site Entrance and new Internal Access Roads which in turn opens onto the existing entrance road to the Ballina/Killala regional road (R314).
