Jameson Experience Heritage Centre Distillery Walk Midleton

Refurbishment, alteration and extension of a building know as miller's house/infirmary building. The proposed works straddle the boundary of Cork County Council and Midleton Town Council and is an alteration of the planning permission P.D. 12/56005 granted by Midleton Town Council. A planning application has been lodged to both Planning Authorities for the overall proposed development. The development proposed within the Cork County Council area includes the provision of an entrance through an existing archway on the boundary wall to provide access to a proposed extension. The proposed extension is single storey in height. Miller’s House/Infirmary Building is located within the curtilage of a Protected Structure.

The proposed development is a single storey extension to the existing supervisors’ office building. The proposed development is for the modifications to an establishment to which the Major Accident Directive applies and is for the purposes of an activity requiring an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Licence (now Industrial Emissions Directive Licence)

The refurbishment, modification and change of use of existing warehouse buildings (Buildings 19, 20, 21) to form part of the Jameson Experience at The Jameson Experience Heritage Centre. The proposed works will include alterations to the existing facades and internal layout to facilitate the temporary relocation of the existing visitor centre which will consist of reception area, auditorium, whiskey tasting rooms and retail shop including off-trade whiskey sales. The temporary heritage centre will be a licensed premises, including bar, cafe/restaurant with covered outdoor seating area and a temporary structure to accommodate public toilets adjacent to the existing warehouses. The building will continue to form part of the Jameson Experience and be used for tourism uses once the temporary use ceases. The proposed development consists of the carrying out of works to a protected structure.

The construction of a road to accommodate a land train and walking tours extending into the Garden Stillhouse Area and consists of the carrying out of works to a protected structure. The proposed works will include alterations to 2 no. sections of the northern boundary wall of the Distillery site to provide (i) access to the Garden Stillhouse Area consisting of the construction of a new ramp, stairs and wheelchair lift and (ii) an emergency evacuation route for the land train. the proposed development will include a new refuge structure, fencing, landscaping including a berm and all ancillary site development works. The proposed development is for modifications to an establishment to which the Major Accident Directive applies

The Jameson Experience Heritage Centre Distillery Walk, in the townlands of Townparks, Park North and School-Land, Midleton Co. Cork

Demolition of an existing storage structure to facilitate the development of a new still house and associated Tankfarm. The proposed still house has the capacity to accomodate 6 no. pot stills and the Tankfarm will include 27 no. tanks ranging in size from 30,000 litres and 60,000 litres. The proposed development includes the provision of a piperack to link the proposed still house and associated Tankfarm with the existing still house and the proposed distillation columns located within the Cork County Council area. All infrastructure and services required for the proposed development are located within the Cork County Council area.
