Permission for the construction of new shared sports facility. The proposed development includes the provision of. (a) 7 no. playing pitches comprising 3 no. grassed rugby pitches (pitches no’s 1, 2 & 3), 2 no. grassed soccer pitches (pitches no’s 5 & 7), 1 no. astroturf/all-weather soccer pitch (pitch no. 4) and 1 no. astroturf/all-weather multi-use pitch (pitch no. 6). (b) The construction of 2 no. two-storey clubhouse buildings providing changing rooms, player and spectator welfare facilities with adjacent surface car and bicycle parking areas. (c) The provision floodlights of circa 15-21 metres in height, serving pitch no’s 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. (g) All other ancillary site development works including landscaping/compensatory planting and SuDS proposals. (h) Vehicular access to the proposed development will be provided via a shared site entrance from Kennel Hill (L-1203) with an additional pedestrian entrance to the southeast of the site also from Kennel Hill (L-1203). A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared and will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.
