We would like to develop our mothers house to accommodate our family, as she gets older she does not want to live completely by herself but would like to stay in her house as a larger property that accommodates us all. This will enable her to stay in her house that she has lived in for almost 50 years, close to her friends, neighbours and local amenities in the area that she is used to. We are proposing to raise the height of this end of Terrance home in line with many properties in the same street and surrounding area to create a more functional home for our family as the current setup of these homes is that the front is on a different level to the back which will be a health and Safety issue for her (and our 3 year old). We are proposing to create another floor to have more bedrooms and to have an office in the back garden as both of us work mainly from home. The front of the house and all of the houses in the Terrace are in old Brick so we would use reclaimed bricks to ensure the front of the house was in keeping with the road. There are no protected structures. I have attached plans and would ideally like to discuss our proposal at you convenience.
