I. The full removal (34m) of the Annacotty Weir and fish passage from the eastern riverbank up to the adjacent mill race and sluice gate at the western riverbank and making good the face of retained structural elements. II. The reprofiling and restoration of approximately 50m of the river channel to reinstate natural stream conditions and enable fish migration. This includes placement of boulders, and graded rock to replicate healthy, stable, and natural channel conditions. III. Temporary site access for construction stage is proposed from the Woodstown Road via the existing gateway adjacent to the junction with Mountshannon Road and existing pathway. Creation of a temporary access ramp from the eastern riverbank and temporary stone causeway (with pipes for river flow) on the downstream side of the weir to allow construction vehicle access to the weir from the eastern riverbank; the stone causeway and ramp will be removed as removal of the weir structure progresses. The removal of individual trees to enable construction activities. The creation of temporary construction lay down areas/site compounds on lands approximately 50m to the east of the existing weir. IV. Reinstatement of the disturbed lands following weir removal including landscaping consisting of seeding and planting with appropriate native vegetation, removal of temporary construction facilities, and riverbank restoration works.
