Proposed Development

Hotel development. The development was to comprise of 120 bedrooms over three storeys, including conference, leisure, ancillary hotel facilities and associated car parking. Permission is also sought for a change of use of Woodtown Manor (a Protected Structure) from residential to hotel use including the conversion of the stable buildings to hotel apartment use (6 no. suites) and the demolition of single storey semi derelict outbuildings. The application also included permission for a temporary waste water treatment plant. A request for further information required a number of issues to be addressed which alters the design of the scheme, which now has a revised site layout. The revised proposal provides for: the partial removal of a 3 storey block, involving the removal of 22 no. bedrooms; the retention of single semi-derelict outbuildings and the subsequent movement of the surrounding development 14 metres approximately, from the protected structure in a south east direction; the reconfiguration of the car parking layout including the movement of 116 no. spaces to the rear (east) of the hotel; the reduction of the number of car parking from 350 to 328.
