Extension of childcare services to studio space in main building. Firhouse Community and Leisure Centre already have a childcare facility that has been in operation for over 20 years. the expansion is due to the need for additional spaces in the Firhouse catchment area. The studio space is currently being utilized for dance, fitness, drama, prayer groups, meetings, parties, Pilates, self-defence, active age to name a few and the child care would not impact on any of these services as it would run from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday during school term. It is anticipated to have a capacity for 22 children. The original building was granted permission in 1986 however TUSLA require Clarification that this space can be used for a preschool service. I have attached relevant permissions and highlighted proposed area for use as additional childcare facility. Please note that we do not anticipate any structural changes to this space.
