The construction of a residential development of 28 no. apartments, comprising 15 no. 2 bedroom and 13 no. 1 bedroom units, contained in three 2-4 storey buildings and all ancillary site works. The proposed development consists of: (1) the demolition of the single storey over basement extension to the existing industrial ‘Brewery’ building fronting onto Watergate Street and the demolition of existing two storey extensions, boiler house, portacabin, storage container and ancillary structures to the rear; (2) the change of use, partial demolition and refurbishment of the existing industrial ‘Brewery’ building (Block A) and the construction of replacement of three storey extension fronting onto Watergate Street, and replacement three storey extension to the rear to provide 18 no. apartment units; (3) the construction of a new four storey building (Block B) to the south of the ‘Brewery’ building to provide 8 no. apartment units; (4) the change of use and refurbishment of the existing two storey industrial building to the southwest of the site to contain 2 no. apartment units (Block C); (5) Ancillary site works including bicycle and car/motorcycle parking, bin storage, landscaped external amenity space and boundary treatments. Vehicular and pedestrian access to the proposed development will be provided via the existing entrance from Watergate Street, which will be upgraded.
