SDCC had previously recognised the shortfall historically of parking spaces. it was also noted at TRAC and discussed regularly in 2006 and 2007 by councillors and a solution was agreed to removing a strip of zoned open space and install publicly designated on - street car parking - the subject of this current Section 5 Application.

The proposed development shall consist of: 6 1-Bedroom 1 storey houses (2 person); 2 2-Bedroom Ground Floor Apartments (3 person); 2 2-Bedroom First Floor Apartments (3 person). A two storey extension to the western side and a single storey extension to the northern side (rear). The works will involve acquiring from South Dublin County Council approx. 30sqm of the public open space to the western side of the property to facilitate the development, and the construction of a 0.75sqm extended window at first floor level to the rear of the existing house together with relocating the front door from the western to the southern side of the front porch. It is also intended to relocate, in a northerly direction, the existing vehicular access gates to the rear garden and this will necessitate forming a vehicular right-of-way from the public road across the public open space and footpath to the western side of the property.
