Retention & completion of Convention Centre: The retention consists of existing site works and services, existing foundations, existing steel frame, existing partial block works, and existing partial roof: the Convention Centre is a three storey building, incorporating a main hall with seating for up to 6,000 people with a temporary stage, entrance foyer, stores, break-out / meeting rooms, temporary bar, plant room, toilet and ancillary facilities, 675 car parking spaces and associated landscaping and site works including covered walk to existing Hotel and Golf Course. The development adjoins the site of a recorded monument with Protected Structure status (ie Saggart zone of archaelogical influence) and also adjoins the curtilege of Tassagart House and Tower House, listed buildings with Protected Structure status all on site. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Statement. As there is an existing 4000 seat Convention Centre in Citywest Hotel it is intended that a Section 47 agreement under the Local Government Planning and Development Act 2000 will be entered into the effect that both Convention Centres will not be used simultaneously. Further Information and revised plans received on 07/09/05 as follows:- Revised plans include alterations to the proposed roundabout on the existing public road, Garter Lane, at its junction with the entrance to the existing hotel and proposed Convention Centre, together with the relocation of the existing pedestrian bridge across Garter Lane. The further information also clarifies the proposed uses to be accommodated in the Convention Centre. The further information also includes an addendum to the Environmental Impact Statement already submitted.
