Proposed Development

Construction of a single storey extension to the western side of the existing NIPBI laboratory building consisting of 8 no. laboratories with associted offices, stores and toilets at ground floor with a total gross floor area of 1,384 square metres, a partial first floor extension consisting of staff welfare facilities with a total gross floor area of 161 square metres, external roof top plant and all associated on-site infrastructure. It is proposed to construct the extension in 2 phases, phase 1 consisting of 4 ground floor laboratories, offices, stores and toilets and the first floor welfare rooms and external roof top plant to a height of 8.1 metres at its highest point. Phase 2 will consist of 4 laboratories, offices and stores at ground floor to a height of 5.45 square metres. The external architectural treatment of the new extension will match the existing NIPBI building.
