Counts are of applications with a received date inside the ISO week (7 September to 13 September), read from the national planning applications dataset published by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage on behalf of the 31 planning authorities. Major projects are identified by scanning each development description; sizes come from the register fields and the description itself, and each story quotes the description in full.
