Proposed Development

A residential development of 9no. dwellings at the site of the former 2-part 3-part 4 storey Sacred Heart Convent. The proposed development will consist of permission for 1). Demolition of existing ancillary structures (garages and glasshouse), and removal of parts of the existing boundary wall to facilitate 2no. new vehicular entrances; 2). Repair, renovation, minor extension, and conversion of the former convent building into 4 no. 2-part 3-part 4 storey townhouses (1no. 2 storey 2-bed townhouse; 2no. 2-storey 3-bed townhouse; and 1 no. 2-part 3-part 4 storey 4-bed townhouse) to include the demolition of ancillary structures, including coal house, lean-to, boiler house, and link corridor to the Convent Chapel; and minor alterations to the roof and all elevations; 3). Construction of 5no. detached 2 storey, 4-bed dwellings; 4). Provision of 2no. new vehicular entrances off the public road to serve 3 of the proposed detached dwellings located to the south of the former convent building, with the remaining 2no. detached dwellings to the north of the former convent building accessed via the existing access off the public road (no works are proposed to this existing access). 5). All associated ancillary site development works including access roads, set down, drainage, car parking, landscaping, boundary treatments, footpaths and public amenity areas, all located at the former 2-part 3-part 4 storey Sacred Heart Convent. The proposed development will consist of work to the Sacred Heart Convent, a Protected Structure (RPS No. 32), and is within the curtilage of the following Protected Structures: Covent Chapel (RPS No. 33) Former Orphanage (RPS No. 34) and Gate Lodge, (RPS No. 31).
