Weekly roundup · 28 September to 4 October 2026
360 planning applications lodged across Ireland in week 40 so far, register shows
Ireland's 31 planning authorities received 360 planning applications between 28 September and 4 October 2026. Cork County Council was the busiest council with 60. Councils publish to the national register with a lag, so these figures are provisional and will rise.
Provisional. Councils publish to the national register a week or more after receiving an application, so a week’s total keeps rising for four to five weeks after it ends. The register is current to 5 October 2026. Treat the week-on-week comparison as indicative until then.

Method
Counts are of applications with a received date inside the ISO week (28 September to 4 October), read from the national planning applications dataset published by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage on behalf of the 31 planning authorities. Major projects are identified by scanning each development description; sizes come from the register fields and the description itself, and each story quotes the description in full.
